In 2019, I say, “YES’” to living well & spending less. Peace of Mind is a reward I desire to give to myself.

Yes, even  have created a budget that I can live within! This is another exciting and critical step on my own 2019. BEST. YEAR EVER. journey. I have embarked. It’s the NEW ship I am sailing. And it’s part of the spectacular journey I embrace as I live worthy, love myself, and honor my God-given talents, dreams and goals as worthy of ME!

WAKE UP CALL – My behavior showed me I had not been in the habit of honoring my own dreams and goals. My heart wanted to give generously, take more fun trips with my growing and grown children, and invest wisely in my business and sow into my future. My “moment in the mirror,” (as my coach and GIA co-CEO Lynda Cormier refers to it),  came when I realized that, my spending was not in alignment with what my heart’s desires and it was certainly not bringing me peace. I realized, if I don’t respect my finances, I am not respecting my SELF.

It felt humiliating to realize it had been going on for a LONG time.  I remember listening intently to “Respect Yourself,” the iconic chart-topping Staples Singer’s 1972 hit when I was 12 years old in our Georgetown townhome in Washington, D.C., not realizing at the time how I much I needed to receive its message. And now, many decades since, I have experienced the damage and ravage that a belief in one’s unworthiness can wreak upon a life – even one filled with great goodness and uncountable blessings.

Honoring myself and the blessings bestowed upon me is my new normal. My new budget is practical, for sure, and it’s a symbol of the attention my financial resources deserve. The loving, careful attention I am giving my finances is permeating other areas of my life, shining a light on where I can improve in my relationships, my work and my health, as I live worthy and honor myself.
